June Monthly Wrap Up >> Simply Adrift

I felt like I was a bit out of the loop this month blogging wise and forever falling behind on my blogging goals.

At first it was because I was really busy with work and wasn’t on social media as often because I was so tired, but then I was out of it a week because I got a really bad migraine that knocked me off of my feet. I don’t often get migraines, but this one was so bad I physically couldn’t go in to work for half of the week – it was horrible! I also couldn’t blog because all I was doing those days was sleeping and hoping the pain and exhaustion stopped.

Ironically, even though I expressed my opinions on commenting this month, I’m also behind on replying to comments left on my blog + visiting all of you lovely people and commenting on your blogs… I’m sorry! I hope to catch up this weekend!

Here is June wrapped up.

What I’ve been up to outside of blogging my life

Besides being busy at work and unwell. I’ve been really busy this month planning my month long backpacking trip in mid-July to mid-August around Europe with my friend. We’ve planned Greece, Malta, The French Riviera, Spain and Portugal.

We still need to book accommodation for the latter half but we have an idea of a route and where we want to go. I am so excited guys! Beach time (soooo much beach time), sightseeing, a bit of history, and hopefully new friends will be made!

I bought Ashley from Nosegraze’sBuild Your Own Damn Website‘ course! I loved her ‘Master Customizer‘ course (I 100% recommend it if you’re self hosted and need help with CSS) which has helped me so much with Simply Adrift.

I’m still playing around with things and learning, but now at least I know how CSS works and I really enjoy tinkering with things. So I knew I needed to try her ‘Build your own damn website’ course. I haven’t had time to start it yet but I definitely plan to get stuck in once I return from Europe in August.

I went to the Royal Ascot Races and saw the Queen. That was an experience because I’ve never been to the races before and everyone was dressed to the nines. It was so much fun! I also may have won a few bets.

On the way to the Ascot Races 😜

  1. I’m so jealous of your Europe trip!! I’m sure it’ll be amazing 🙂 As I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the ‘build your own damn website’ course. For my own website, I use a theme template and otherwise I learned CSS from other website courses just so I could change some appearance things. But the idea of working on .php and the more html based things have been scary for me. So I would love to see how you do with the course.

And of course, thank you for sharing my posts!

    • I am honestly so excited for my Europe trip! I can’t wait to get away from work and to spend four weeks on a beach lol.

I can’t wait to start it. Ohh that sounds cool, sounds like you would have learnt a lot about CSS from doing it that way.

I love the idea of understanding how to code and how use and read HTML and PHP even, but I am definitely scared that I will find it difficult! Fingers crossed I grasp it well.

No worries, I saw you had posted some awesome content recently which I’ve read but I haven’t had time to comment! (Boo being sick and stressed).

    • Haha I think that’s what I really like about Game of Thrones – half of the world watches it and half of the world goes crazy each episode. It’s so cool experiencing it the same time as everyone else and being able to join in on the discussion hoping you aren’t spoiling it for anyone around you!

  2. You looked so pretty, going to Ascot!
Don’t even mentioning being behind on comments… I had to use my tablet for blogging for a week (had to go up north to pack up some stuff) and now I’m so so behind! Sooo commiserations, I guess?
Your trip sounds like it will be amazing! So many countries, so much sun and summer! I hope you have an amazing time!

    • Aww thank you! I felt pretty 😀 I love getting dressed up like that, I wish there were more reasons to haha.

Ahh gosh, isn’t it really hard when you get behind on something? I feel so guilty when I get behind on interacting with readers. I hope you catch up with yours quickly!

Thank you! I’m hoping it will be amazing 😀 Gotta be honest, I’m a little nervous for lugging a backpack around, last time it was really hard lol.

  3. Backpacking around Europe sounds AMAZING. My dad did that back when he was in college and he has so many stories. And I recently started watching The Flash on Netflix–it’s really good. Anyway, I hope you have a July without any migraines (those are the worst) and that you have the best time in Europe. ❤

    • Backpacking around Europe is definitely a great thing to do for your OE! I recommend it when you do your own OE haha. I’m sure your dad would love it if you did something he got to experience as well.

I’ve been backpacking around before, I did three months backpacking around Europe two years a go. But I need to go back, I love summer and I love summer over there. Plus I love traveling and everything that comes along with backpacking.

The Flash gets so much better! Stick with it if you get bored because season 2 was miles better than season 1 and I still really enjoyed season 1.

Thank you, I hope so too, can you imagine backpacking around with a migraine? I don’t know how I would cope…

  4. Ooh, I’m so jealous of your Europe trip! That is one of my dreams. It sounds so exciting. I hope you have an amazing time! Try not to worry too much about being behind on comments. I’m in the same position as you though so I definitely understand how stressful it can feel! I’m sure everyone will understand though.

And you’re super pretty ♥ I love your outfit!!

    • I definitely recommend doing a Europe backpacking trip! I’ve been before, two years ago and I was backpacking for a whole 3 months, so that was pretty amazing. This time around I’ll be spending less time in each place because it’ll only be 1 month backpacking which kind of sucks but I’m still really excited 😀 You should plan an OE and backpack around Europe! It’s so much fun and so interesting. Learning more about each cities history is really eye opening to how the rest of the world is.

Arghh I hate it when I get behind on comments, it’s really hard to catch up if I want to stay at the same speed rate of blogging. And replying to comments is one of my favourite things! I love discussing things in the comments.

Aww thank you! The dress was a little big but you couldn’t tell too much, I really loved the dress though, I love that emerald green colour.
